1st ANNUAL CAPITAL CITY CELEBRATION - 4th Of July Little
Red Wagon Parade

Decorate your wagon and join Springfield in celebrating
the 4th!
The Springfield Jaycees are hosting a unique way to
show off your artistic skills for a great cause with
the "4th of July Little Red Wagon Parade".
"Celebrate Springfield" by giving back to
our area kids through Children's Miracle Network at
St. John Children's Hospital in partnership with SIU
School of Medicine. The Parade kicks off at 3:30 p.m.
The Parade route will begin at 1st and Monroe, continue
south on 2nd, and end at Edwards Street. After the Parade,
wagon's can be left for viewing at Edwards Street and
can be picked up after the Fireworks.
The staging area for the Parade will be at 1st and
Monroe and participants should assemble at 2:30 p.m.
for the 3:00 p.m. judging. The theme for this year's
parade is "Celebrate Springfield".

Awards will be presented for: Best use of Theme, Most
Creative Wagon, and Judges Choice.
We are accepting entries from Businesses, Families,
Community Organizations, and Neighborhood Associations.
Entry fee is $20 per wagon, with proceeds benefiting
"Children's Miracle Network". For late
entries, please contact Erin at 217-836-9281. Entries
must be postmarked by June 29th, 2007.

RULES
1. Standard four (4) wheel wagons only.
2. Wagons should be no longer than 48" long and 28"
wide, including all decorations, but not including the pull
handle.
3. All decorations must be attached securely for the parade.
4. Wagon must be hand-pulled by a single person. Children
may have adult assistance.
5. NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES OR LIVE ANIMALS ARE ALLOWED IN THE
PARADE.
6. NO CANDY OR GIVEAWAYS PLEASE.
7. Only 4 walkers per entry.

NO, you may use any color or

| 2. Where do the proceeds for the entry fee
go? |
The proceeds from the entry fee will go
to the local chapter of the Children's Miracle Network
and the funds raised will benefit the St. Johns Children's
Hospital and SIU School of Medicine. |

hospital? |
If you checked yes on the entry form to
donate your wagon, a member of the Springfield Jaycees
will contact you to make arrangements. |
